Local schools to hold kindergarten registration

Several local schools will host their kindergarten registration in the month of March.

Fleeta School will have Kindergarten registration on Fri., March 5, 2021, between the hours of 8 a.m., until 1 p.m.

The child must be five years old on or before Sept. 1.

Please bring birth certificate, social security card and vaccination record at the time of registration.

Straughn Elementary School will have kindergarten registration on Fri., March 19, from 8 a.m., until 1 p.m., at the Straughn Elementary Cafetorium.

New kindergarten students must be five years old on or before Sept. 1, 2021 and live in the Straughn School District to enroll.

Please bring a proof of residence, child’s birth certificate, child’s current immunization records, child’s social security card and custody/guardianship information, if applicable.

Social distancing and COVID-19 guidelines will be observed.

W.S. Harlan Elementary will have its kindergarten registration on Fri., March 12, from 8 a.m., until 2 p.m., at its auditorium.

Parents will need to bring a birth certificate, Alabama immunization card and social security card.

If your child does not attend W.S. Harlan Pre-K, or Florala Head Start, please bring them to registration.

It is important for parents to pre-register their children for Kindergarten on this date, even if they attend W.S. Harlan Pre-K or Florala Head Start.

Students not attending W.S. Harlan Pre-K and Florala Head Start will be given a brief academic screener.

All students who register will receive a W.S. Harlan Kindergartner yard sign.

Pleasant Home Elementary School Kindergarten Registration will be Fri., March 19, from 8:30 a.m., until1 p.m.

Please bring a birth certificate, shot record, and social security card.

It will be held in the Pleasant Home auditorium.

 

Andalusia Elementary School has not set a date yet.
